What I love this November

Happy Monday! If you’re a college student like me, you may be enjoying your first day of Thanksgiving break. I am working on this post from the comfort of my parents’ kitchen table, drinking coffee and eating avocado & egg toast that I didn’t have to make myself. It is the LIFE. I’m feeling like a back home baller, if you know what I mean.

I thought this would be the perfect time to share a few things I’ve really been enjoying this November.

1. My gallery wall

This wall is right above the longer side of my bed. I found the big Van Gogh print at a cool little vintage shop in Broad Ripple, a hipster suburb of Indianapolis, while I was interning in the city this summer. The frame was on sale at Michael’s, a steal of about $15. The print originally hung alone in the center of my wall, but I was at my grandparents’ a couple months ago and found three super fun frames in their garage. The top left frame – which features a picture of me and my boyfriend, Nate – didn’t need any updates at all other than the picture. The top right frame used to be a garish, metallic gold, so I picked up a can of white paint to update it. The bottom left frame was the same story. The little green frame is one I stole from my roommate Hannah, but if I had to guess where she got it, I’d say Target. Such a fun update to my room, and it only cost around $50!

2. Kate Spade planner

I am IN LOVE with this planner my sweet mom bought for me as a birthday gift (after I dropped several hints). I love that it has several lines allocated for each day of the week, enabling you to sort out engagements and appointments by time, which is perfect for someone like me who is running a little late a lot of the time. It also has a great monthly view, which can be seen above. But the two things I love most about this planner are the size (7 1/2″ x 9 1/4″) and the design – can it get any cuter? Buy it here, you won’t regret it.

3. This nail polish color

I got my nails done with my mom a couple Fridays ago in preparation for my dear friend Megan’s wedding (which was gorgeous by the way – I was a bridesmaid and she let us pick the most divine dresses). Mom and I unknowingly picked the same color for our gel manicures – this deep pink. I kept it on my nails for at least a week after and loved the color because it is understated and versatile without being too “blah.” And I got a lot of compliments, so that’s always a good sign. I forgot to check the name of the color at the salon, but Zoya has a similar color called “mia” and can be found here.

4. My ripped denim jeggings

I rediscovered this pair of jeans at the beginning of fall out of necessity when my favorite pair of Joe’s dark wash skinnies ripped while I was playing Just Dance 2 with my roommates (yes, that is a true story). I’ve started wearing them around again and forgot how fun and comfortable they are. They make any outfit a little edgier without having to try too hard, and since they’re jeggings, they’re very stretchy, so I will definitely be wearing them on Thanksgiving. If you’re interested, PacSun still sells them on their website.

And so concludes my November “What I Love” list. What are you loving this November? Comment on this post to let me know!

*I wasn’t paid to review any of this stuff – I’m not famous enough for that (yet).*

  1. I like that you are reporting from your parents’ kitchen table. I’m loving Thanksgiving week, since you asked. I must admit I’m slightly troubled by the ampersand in your post, but I’ll work through it. Wishing you all the best in the blogosphere!
